Escape Through the Cape 5k

Join us for our annual Escape Through the Cape 5k and 1 mile fun run on Saturday, April 20, 2024! Come early to the school parking lot for the 8:30 am start time and stay for our Fit Family Festival through 11a.m. Tech material race shirts are guaranteed to those who register by March 22nd.

Each finisher will receive a custom medal! We will have FREE activities for kids, and a variety of local vendors will be on hand. Plus, join us for great refreshments following the race.

Race Day Information – Saturday, April 20, 2024

The main school lot will be closed for the Family Fit Festival and Start/Finish area. Limited parking will be available in the field. The Cape United Methodist Church (855 Chestnut Tree Drive) has opened their lot to us. Please park there and make the short walk to the school.

Short sleeve tech shirts (Youth S – Adult 4XL) available to those who register by 3/22/24.

On-line registration available until 4/18/24 (no shirt guaranteed after March 30th).

Awards

First place winners in each category (5k Run ONLY) will receive a small prize after the race – 5 & under, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-65, 65-69, 70 & above.

Finisher medals will be provided to all race finishers.

What is the registration fee used for?

Your $30, non-refundable race fee will be applied towards the Cape Saint Claire Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). The Cape St. Claire Parent Teacher Organization (CSC-PTO) is dedicated to supporting the education and well being of the children in attendance at the Cape St. Claire Elementary School, and also to supporting the efforts of their teachers and families. To that end the organization raises funds, organizes social events, sponsors enrichment programs and coordinates volunteer efforts.

What happens if it is raining?

This event is a RAIN or SHINE event. In the case of a weather emergency necessitating cancellation, please check your e-mail for notification.

Can I bring a stroller?

Strollers are welcome! This is a great event for the WHOLE family.

Do I need to register my stroller child?

As this is a fundraiser, we encourage you to register everyone who will participate. Shirts run as small as Youth XS in consideration of our littlest racers, and all finishers including those rolling in strollers will receive a medal. If you opt to not register your stroller child, kindly fill out a waiver on the morning of the event prior to starting the course.
