Escape Through The Cape 5K
Cape St. Claire Elementary School PTO is holding its annual Escape through the Cape 5K & 1M Fun Run on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
Come out to the Cape Saint Claire Elementary School for our 8:30 am start time and stay for our Fit Family Festival through 11 AM.
We will have FREE activities for kids and a variety of local vendors will be on hand. Plus, join us for great refreshments following the race.

RACE DAY SCHEDULE:
7:30 Late Registration and Packet Pick Up
8:15 Opening Ceremony
8:30 5K Start
8:45 1 Mile Start
Awards Ceremony to Follow 5K
Fit Family Festival - 8AM - 11AM
AWARDS:
First place winners in each category (5k Run ONLY) will receive a small prize after the race - 5 & under, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-65, 65-69, 70 & above. Finisher medals will be given to all finishers.
Registration
Registration for race day is open! Short sleeve technical shirts (Youth S - Adult 4XL) available to those who register by 4/11/2025. On-line registration available until 4/25/2025. Race day registration available starting at 7:30 am.
Early bird registrations before March 15th will receive a $5 discount!

Your non-refundable race fee will be applied towards the Cape Saint Claire Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). The Cape St. Claire Parent Teacher Organization (CSC-PTO) is dedicated to support the education and well being of the children in attendance at the Cape St. Claire Elementary School, and also to support the efforts of their teachers and families. To that end the organization raises funds, organizes social events, sponsors enrichment programs and coordinates volunteer efforts.

Additional Information/FAQs
What happens if it is raining? This event is a RAIN or SHINE event. In the case of a weather emergency necessitating cancellation, please check your e-mail for notification.

Can I bring a stroller? Strollers are welcome! This is a great event for the WHOLE family.
Do I need to register my stroller child? As this is a fundraiser, we encourage you to register everyone who will participate if you would like a t-shirt and a medal. Shirts run as small as Youth XS in consideration of our littlest racers, and all finishers including those rolling in strollers will receive a medal. If you opt to not register your stroller child, kindly fill out a waiver on the morning of the event prior to starting the course.

Can my child run the 5K without an adult? No. Please register an adult to run with your child or find an adult running the course who is willing to supervise and support your child.
